ABOUT THE PATTERN
Blanket 02 is worked flat using an 8-row staggered eyelet stitch pattern. After the main blanket is completed and bound off, an applied I-cord is worked around the entire perimeter to create a smooth, finished edge.

Why learn this method?

Keep your hands close to the needles and work with small, efficient movements. For many knitters, this more relaxed style can mean less hand fatigue and a more comfortable way to knit.

Struggling with loose purls, uneven stockinette or messy ribbing? The Norwegian method can help create more consistent tension between your knit and purl stitches — giving your knitting a cleaner, more even appearance.

The working yarn stays in the back for both knit and Norwegian purl stitches, so there’s less moving the yarn back and forth. Knits, purls, ribbing and textured stitches can flow together in one continuous rhythm.
I learned to knit more than 40 years ago simply by watching my mom. Interestingly, I didn’t knit the way she did — I naturally developed what I later learned was the Russian, or Eastern, knitting method.
Years later, when I became interested in designing my own patterns, I started paying much closer attention to how I knit. I explored different knitting styles and techniques before discovering the Norwegian knitting method — the method that felt the most natural, comfortable and intuitive in my hands.
Today, M1R KNIT is a knitting education and pattern brand focused on the Norwegian knitting method. Through clear, close-up tutorials and beginner-friendly to intermediate knitting patterns, I help knitters build confidence, improve their technique and put new skills into practice through thoughtfully designed projects.

The Blanket 02 Knitting Pattern is an advanced beginner pattern for knitting a classic textured blanket featuring a simple staggered eyelet stitch and a clean applied I-cord edging.
Worked flat in an easy-to-follow 8-row repeat, the staggered eyelets create a light, understated texture across the surface of the blanket. The finished blanket is bordered with an applied I-cord for a polished, modern edge.

ABOUT THE PATTERN
Blanket 02 is worked flat using an 8-row staggered eyelet stitch pattern. After the main blanket is completed and bound off, an applied I-cord is worked around the entire perimeter to create a smooth, finished edge.
The eyelet pattern uses simple yarn overs and decreases to create evenly spaced openings that shift position through the repeat, producing the subtle staggered design.

Worked seamlessly from the bottom up, BEANIE 01 combines clean, classic styling with traditional crown shaping for an everyday hat you’ll reach for again and again.

ABOUT THE PATTERN
BEANIE 01 is worked seamlessly from the bottom up in the round.
The beanie begins with a 4" / 10 cm half-twisted rib brim designed to be worn folded. The body is worked in stockinette stitch before the crown is shaped with evenly spaced K2tog decreases. Double-pointed needles are used as the crown circumference becomes too small for the circular needle.
