MOSAIC Socks 01 Knitting Pattern
DIGITAL PDF KNITTING PATTERN | ENGLISH ONLY | NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
Introducing Mosaic Socks 01, a classic cuff-down sock pattern featuring a simple mosaic colourwork motif, traditional heel-flap-and-gusset construction and a comfortable wedge toe.
Mosaic knitting creates graphic colourwork using only one colour at a time, making it a great introduction to colourwork without having to manage two working yarns across the same round.
Choose between a Shorty or Mid-Calf leg length and two colour arrangements—light or dark as your main colour—to make the design your own.
DESIGN + CONSTRUCTION
Mosaic Socks 01 are knitted from the cuff down in the round using the magic loop method.
The socks begin with a 2 x 2 ribbed cuff, followed by stockinette stitch and a mosaic colourwork section worked with slipped stitches.
The mosaic motif uses an 8-stitch repeat and traditional mosaic charting, where each horizontal chart row represents two rounds. Only one colour is worked at a time.
After the leg, the sock is completed with:
Slip-stitch heel flap
Short-row heel turn
Picked-up gusset stitches
Gusset decreases
Stockinette foot
Wedge toe
Kitchener stitch finish
The pattern includes both written mosaic instructions and colourwork charts, including options for using either the light or dark yarn as your main colour.
