Scarf 02: The Ripple Knitting Pattern
DIGITAL PDF KNITTING PATTERN | ENGLISH ONLY | NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
Introducing Scarf 02: The Ripple, a beautifully textured scarf featuring a repeating wave pattern created with simple increases and decreases. Soft, flowing ripples bring movement and dimension to the fabric, while garter stitch borders provide a clean, understated finish.
Designed for warmth, comfort, and everyday wear, this generously sized scarf combines straightforward construction with timeless style. Its versatile design can be wrapped comfortably around the neck, draped over the shoulders, or worn as a cozy layering accessory. Personally, I love wearing it wrapped around my shoulders.
DESIGN + CONSTRUCTION
Scarf 02 is knitted flat in one piece, working back and forth in rows.
The design features an 8-row ripple stitch repeat, created using yarn overs and decreases to form a rhythmic, wave-like texture. Four-stitch garter borders run along both sides, with matching garter stitch borders at each end.
The pattern uses basic knit and purl stitches alongside yarn overs, knit-two-together decreases, and slip-slip-knit decreases.
There are no seams or assembly required. Once the knitting is complete, simply bind off, weave in the ends, and block if desired.
VIDEO TUTORIAL
An accompanying M1R KNIT video tutorial demonstrates the construction and knitting techniques used in this design.
